Based on the traditional “waiter’s friend”, this hand-crafted corkscrew used mechanical advantage to lever the cork easily from the bottle. It also features a bottle opener on the handle end. A very satisfying tool with two riveted linkages, ideal for the discerning wine-drinker. It’s not cheap, but it takes me about three hours to make one of these! The handle and lever are forged from mild steel and the corkscrew itself is from spring steel recycled from old car coil springs!
Finished in microcrystalline wax – as used by the British Museum for preserving metalwork, this will last for years to come.
