The hanging griddle plate is an add-on product that can be ordered together with my campfire tripod, or will happily hang off most existing tripods.
Think of this like a big sizzling edgeless frying pan, onto which you can pile your meat, veggies, fish, eggs, or maybe cook some flatbread! Perfect for a big morning fry-up or searing a steak.
The standard round griddle plate is 50cm across and is sized to fit my standard 1m tripod. If you require a different size, please enquire as they are all made to order. The griddle is cut from heavy 3mm thick steel plate and has three hand-forged hooks on the perimeter which allow it to hang. A set of 60cm long chains is also provided, linked into a forged ring, allowing the griddle to be suspended. The height can be adjusted by hooking the grill into different links on the chains.
The griddle plate is designed to be a cooking surface, so is left unfinished save for a quick pre-seasoning with vegetable oil. For its first use I suggest you get it nice and hot and rub more veg oil into it to allow it to smoke and season the steel. Thereafter, it should gradually build up its own natural seasoning from being used and absorbing the oils from cooking. Just be sure to only wash it in water, or give it a wipe. Detergents will strip out the seasoning.
As with all my products, the griddle plate is made to order, so please allow up to a week for manufacture.
